Thông báo Khóa học Biotechnology in Medicine 2017 - University of Tsukuba

The purpose of this course is to give the practical training for biomedical research students in Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan. This course consists of two sessions:  Bioinformatics lecture course (Part I) and laboratory training course for diagnosing bacterial pathogenic species (Part II). The course will be conducted in English.

Part I:             Bioinformatics Course : Practical training course for biomedical research scientists.

Dates:             February 15 – 17, 2017 (9AM – 5 PM).

Class size:       20 participants.

Eligibility:       Graduate students or 4^th year Undergraduate students who are planning to obtain advanced degree biomedical science and related field.

Description:    Students will learn how to use genomics databases and bioinformatics tools through hands-on experiences of 2^nd-generation sequencing data analysis. This course also provides introduction to Linux shell scripting for constructing semi-automated data processing workflow.

Part II: Workshop on Infection Diagnosis: Laboratory course for diagnosing bacterial pathogenic species.

Dates:             February 20 – 22, 2017 (9AM – 5 PM).

Class size:       24 participants.

Eligibility:       2^nd- 4^th Year Undergraduate students major in field of biomedical science or related fields.

Description: Students will learn principles and techniques to identify and characterize pathogenic bacteria from patient samples. They also learn and discuss the current situation in infectious disease diagnosis and epidemiology in Vietnam.
